Dear Academics and Library Workers

You are hereby invited to submit abstracts for papers and posters that will focus on areas related to the theme of the seminar.

Library and information services are key actors in providing access to essential resources for economic and cultural advance. Their role, which makes contribution to the development and maintenance of intellectual freedom, safeguarding democratic values and universal civil rights, serves all those in their user communities regardless of age, gender, economic or employment status, literacy or technical skills, cultural or ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, sexual orientation, and physical or mental ability.

In the modern knowledge society libraries have a new role and there are various types of library models. In the modern society, where the use of electronic services and Web-based information sources constantly increases, libraries are managed in a more democratic way, have more flexible communication system and work organisation, and their service development is based on the quality and user-orientation of services. In the modern knowledge society libraries have a new role and there are various types of library models.

It is in this context that LIASA Limpopo Branch is inviting all academics and Library workers in Limpopo to come share their experiences with colleagues in a form of paper presentation, posters, interchange and roundtable discussion.
