PEOPLE ON THE MOVE


New Appointments at the University of Limpopo Department Of Information Studies:















Dr S.T. Bopape has been appointed Senior Lecturer in the Department of Information Studies: School of Languages and Communication Studies at the University of Limpopo with effect from 1st March 2013. He was employed as the Personal Librarian for the School of Law at UNISA in Pretoria. His appointment is a positive move for Postgraduate Studies in Library and information Science in the province. Welcome back home Dr Bopape.
New Appointments at the University of Venda Library Services:

 Ms Sindy Hlabangwane was appointed as an Information Librarian: Special Collection at UNIVEN on the 01 September 2012. She was working as an Information Specialist for Economics & Management Sciences at the University of Pretoria Library Services.



Ms Shela Lesetja was appointed as an Information Librarian at UNIVEN from 01 December 2012. She was working as a Librarian at the University of Limpopo Polokwane Campus, Mankweng Branch.


Ms Azwihangwisi Ivy Khangale was appointed as an Information Librarian at UNIVEN on the 01 December 2012. She was working as an Information Specialist for Humanities at the University of Pretoria Library Services.


New Appointment as a member of the Board of the National Library of South Africa

Ms Josias-Manuel is a freelance facilitator and assessor. She is a registered assessor for the Further Education and Training Certificate: Library Practice with the ETDP Seta. Ms Josias-Manuel has been a member of the LIS sector for many years. She has been active in LIASA, which include Limpopo Exco membership (2000-2002; 2008-2009), national (2004) and provincial (2001) conference and workshop (2008) committees. She has served on the LiLLA (Limpopo Indigenous Languages and Local Authors Book Fair) Committee (2009). In 2009, she was awarded the Limpopo Librarian of the Year title.

Ms Josias-Manuel has served on the Limpopo Provincial Library and Information Board (2008-2012). She was part of the University of Limpopo Oral History Committee that provided training on oral history projects to the National Archives and Records Service (1997). She was also part of the University of Limpopo Employment Equity Task Team (May-September 2000), which compiled the first UL Employment Equity Report and Plan.
