South
African Library Week Celebration
The Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA) Limpopo Branch will celebrate the annual South African Library Week at Rivubye High School in ELIM at
the VHEMBE DISTRICT on 19 March 2013.
This customary celebration, aimed at highlighting and raising the profile of libraries
in South Africa, especially amongst previously disadvantaged
communities, will be driven under the theme: Educate Yourself @ Your
Library.
LIASA Limpopo Branch has selected the School based
on the positive and significant outcomes of “One School, One
Library, and One Librarian” campaign. This campaign resulted with one learner
influencing the
School to
turn a classroom into
a library. Books will be donated to the school.
LIASA is the national professional association for all library
and information workers in South Africa. LIASA aims to unite, develop
and empower all people
in the library and
information field. http://www.liasa.org.za
